Our Texas Gal and Literacy Night
To kick off the Literacy night at Addy's school on Feb 24th, the Kindergarten class sang, "Deep in the Heart of Texas." Unfortunately, Nathan was out of town for this special night, but we took pics and video so he could see Addy's big night when he got home. The kids did a wonderful job and were very proud of their presentation.
My favorite picture from the night for two reasons: 1) Look at that beautiful girl in the middle and 2) the kid next to her is picking his nose. Priceless!
There were different stations set up around the school to encourage the kids in their love for reading. My kids' favorite was story time with Mr. Woford, the principal. Even Isaiah loved it and crawled right up in the middle of the action.

The second favorite station was one where the kids could make their own bookmarks. The girls loved this one, but in my mind, it got denoted to second place since a kid had puked right next to it and it wreaked!
At the end of the night, the kids got to share a coke and each got a cookie. They also got to pick out 2-3 books each to take home. I was very excited about this one, since they actually had quite a few really great kids books. It was a fun night and, as an added bonus, it helped us keep our minds off missing daddy.
