Last weekend we joined some friends for a morning at a nearby lake. The kids played in the water and on the playground and we had a very nice picnic lunch. Here is Addy with one of her best friends, Lauren.
That same weekend we took all the kids to a Rangers game. It was a first for Jayden and Isaiah and they both did great! Jayden and Addy love to cheer and route for the Rangers, all the while teasing their daddy since he is a die hard Cardinals fan. He actually doesn't mind them routing for the Rangers since they are Texas girls, but if they ever decide they like a different team, there might be a family feud! Jayden wore another one of her new dresses to the game - she LOVES it. She wore it three days in a row until I insisted that it needed to be washed. So when she dressed that morning she put on her pink fairy outfit. She really is Fancy Nancy (for those of you who've read the books)!
Isaiah rolled over for the first time last week, but he hasn't done it since. We pretty much keep him in bibs and laying on burp clothes all the time because he spits up so much (understatement of the year!). His reflux is still going full throttle. I'm hoping that by the time we start solids around 6 months, he'll start spitting up less. He really likes tummy time these days, when he's not spitting up, that is.
Addy gets to swim two mornings a week during school and has been taking swim lessons the last couple of weeks too. We've also been trying to go to the pool a couple of times a week as a family. Our time there is a perfect example of how different our girls' personalities are. Addy is careful and slow to warm up. After swim lessons, she's now jumping in the water without thinking hard about it first and swimming underwater, but it took a lot to get her to that point. Jayden just jumps in the water without warning. We've had to watch her carefully since she can't yet stand in the shallow end. Jayden loves Nathan to throw her up in the air, but the same brought tears to Addy since she was scared he wouldn't catch her. Addy is so much like me, but in the water, Jayden is more like her momma. In spite of their differences, they're both loving the pool, which brings back a lot of fun memories from my summers at the pool as a kid.
While Nathan and Addy have been traveling to North Dallas for VBS each night this week, Jayden and I have been trying to do fun things at home. Last night we painted nails, played games and read stories. She also begged for a photo shoot, taking dozens of pics in her favorite dress with all her accessories and pretty nails. She might get that from her mom too. Addy came home disappointed not to have her nails done too, so that's on the list for later today!
Addy outgrew her first bike, so her daddy used his Father's Day money (plus a gift card we already had) to buy her a new one. It was so hot and humid the day I took this pic that the camera lens kept fogging up. It's taken some getting used to, but Addy is doing great on her new bike. Hopefully she'll be ready to take off the training wheels soon!
This summer has been so full of good, family memories. Last summer (actually, the whole year) was full of one sad thing after another and was such a difficult time for our family. Although the sadness from those events still lingers, we have marveled at the contrast. Thank you Lord for a season of joy.

Love whenever you blog. It makes me feel like I am so much more up to date on what your family is up to. Loved seeing all the pictures. All our kids are growing so fast.
Isaiah is such a cutie! I can't believe how big he's getting!
