Nathan took a couple of recruiting trips in March and didn't get to be here for Addy's open house at school. So, we took lots of pics that he could enjoy as a second best. Unfortunately, Addy's teacher, Ms. Debusk, was out of town that day, but we still got to see a lot of the things Addy's been working on in class.
Here in Texas, we are all very proud of our state (it's like this most places, but in Texas, they are REALLY proud!) I'm beginning to adopt that same sentiment, and Addy now definitely considers herself a Texas girl. They just finished a unit on Texas and here are some of the art projects they did during it.

Texas Bluebonnets - currently in bloom everywhere! Beautiful!

Six Flags over Texas.

The teacher had it set up so Addy could give us a tour of their classroom and many of the activities they do on a daily basis. This is a pic of her book box, from which she reads stories every morning.

Her seat in the classroom.

Addy's favorite "free choice" station - computers!

Her journal, in which they write every day. This was that morning's entry - "On Saturday I am going to fly my kite."

A big art project the kids did while studying life cycles - they made a caterpillar, a chrysalis, and a butterfly.
On the way out that evening, we stopped by the first grade hallway for a brief tour. I can't believe my little girl is almost a 1st grader!! Where does the time go??
