On May 27th, the Kindergarten classes at Addy's school hosted their Awards day. When we walked into the cafeteria for their concert, a "Class of 2023" sign hung on the curtain - and I cried!! I definitely didn't expect to be emotional (just proud!), but I was moved by the fact that my baby girl is growing up and one day, the graduation I'll be attending won't be Kindergarten, but high school and later (hopefully!) college. Parenting is one season after another of letting go and this particular one was a beautiful celebration with Addy for the things she accomplished this year.

The classes sang songs all together and then each class presented a nursery rhyme and song of their choice. Addy's class did "Hickory Dickory Dock" and "The Three Boppin Bears." We were very proud of her!
After the concert, the families were dismissed to go to their child's classroom for their awards ceremony. Addy received the Creative Writing award. Ms. DeBusk said she got the award because she loves giving details in her stories and enjoys writing so much. In addition to this award, she also received an Exemplary Attendance award.
Here is a pic of Isaiah during the awards ceremony (he LOVED the chairs in her classroom!) and Addy with Ms. DeBusk and all of us afterwards.

Addy with her really good friend Aubrie after the awards ceremony.
Addy is officially a 1st grader now! We took Ms. DeBusk some flowers on the last day of school and a card telling her all the things we love about her and the things we appreciated from this year of school. Ms. DeBusk sent a sweet card home thanking Addy for her flowers and wishing her a good summer and 1st grade school year. I was amazed to watch as Addy read the entire card by herself!! She has really learned so much this year . . . now just to help her maintain that over the summer break!
