Halloween

The girls decided to dress up in old dance costumes of Addy's for Halloween. I was actually very surprised Jayden didn't want to be Rapunzel since her MawMaw got her the Rapunzel dress for her birthday at Disney World. Rather, she was very excited and content to be a dancing bear. Addy went as a pop star and Isaiah was Elmo (an old costume of Addy's too).

This is the second year in a row that we've opted to trick or treat in our neighborhood instead of going out to the church for their carnival. Although the carnival is a lot of fun, it's a 25 minute ride out there and on a school night that makes getting to bed at a decent time even more difficult. We also really enjoy the chance to see neighbors we don't see as often and enjoy the community feel the evening evokes.

My favorite part of the evening was how excited Isaiah was by the whole affair. Nathan was the hero who dutifully chased after him when he got away (which he tried to do after each house!) It was really quite entertaining to watch! He was so excited to go with the girls to each house, knock on the door, get his candy and then try and run inside. Thankfully, the only house he actually made it inside of was our next door neighbor's, Joseph, whom we're friends with. When he couldn't get in the other houses, he took off running down the sidewalk at top speed to the next one. The funniest part was he didn't have a clue what the folks were putting in his basket since he doesn't get treats like candy very often. His dad had mercy on him and helped him eat some of his loot:)
