Our Crazy Month of June

Normally, when I'm behind on blog posts, I'll do a quick catch up with pictures, but our month of June was so crazy I didn't manage to get pictures of much more than the dance recital.  Here is a snapshot in words of our busy season of life and a couple miscellaneous pics:

The first week of June started with our Pre-field Orientation with the interns. We have interns serving this summer in West Africa, Papua New Guinea and working among Muslim refugees in North Dallas. It was a wonderful week of team building and I'm excited about their return for debrief in just a couple more weeks!

The second week of June was our annual conference at PBT called Pioneer Mission Institute.  This acted as the second week of training for the interns and a busy week of ministry for the family.  The last day of the PMI week, the kids do a presentation including the songs they learned that week and the Bible verses they studied.  These pics are horrible quality, but, you get the idea:)  I always LOVE this chapel - it never fails to bring tears to my eyes to see so many PBT missionary kids singing praise to God.  I love PMI week for the way it takes such good care of our MK's.  My kids are always sad when it's over and count the weeks until the next one rolls around.

Jayden is on the far left.

Addy is on the back row in the middle - just to the right of the PBT sign in back.

My mom and step-dad arrived the Saturday morning after PMI so they could be there for Jayden's dance recital.  They stayed for the entire week, which was such a pleasure since they're usually only able to stay for 3-4 days.  We hunted around the DFW area for a portable smoker grill for sale and Bill found one perfect for his needs in his catering business.  It was kind of fun hunting them down on Craigslist and even more fun that he actually found one!

Addy participated in a VBS at a local church that week and we went that Thursday to hear her sing at their community outreach event.  The kids thoroughly enjoyed having MawMaw and PawPaw Bill in town and soaked up the grandparent time.  Isaiah was especially thrilled with having so much story time with grandma.

After mom and Bill left town, we switched gears to finalize financials for the interns and pack for our two week trip to Branson, MO, Louisville, KY and Oak Hill, WV.  (More on that in a future post!)  I can't imagine a more full month - but it was full of a lot of fun memories too.
