Jayden's Birthday Part 1

The weekend before Jayden's 3rd birthday, we had a birthday party for her at Chuck E Cheese. This is her very favorite place on earth! She invited some of her closest PBT pals and her very best friend, Talitha, from preschool (Talitha's mom and dad work in PNG with Wycliffe).

The day before Jayden's birthday was a school day for her. Since she wouldn't be there on her actual birthday, they celebrated a day early. We took in Halloween cupcakes and her teachers made her this crown. She has sported it often ever since. The most exciting part about turning three for Jayden was getting to move up to the 3 year old class at school. All of her friends had already moved up (including Talitha) and she REALLY missed them. Every day for a month before her birthday she talked about turning three and getting to go on the "other side of the fence" at school (the big kids play on a separate playground, which is on the other side of the fence from the little kids).


When her actual birthday arrived, Jayden came downstairs to find a living room full of balloons. This a family tradition for the kids that we started when Jayden turned one. We then ate a special breakfast (okay, to Jayden it was special, because she LOVES cheerios - I promise, that is really what she chose for her birthday breakfast!)

and then we opened presents. Jayden's favorite gift was this fancy barbie. She is a huge fan of anything fancy!


Since Isaiah and I got to spend Jayden's whole birthday with her, we decided to take her on a little trip to the mall to make her own Build-a-Bear! We have never done this before, but I was really excited to do something special with just her. Big sister was a little jealous that she had to go to school, but handled her disappointment pretty well.

Jayden and her new bear "Red the Bear". She named him herself, can you tell? I should also point out that she got her new church shoes the week before and she clicked her way around the mall just like her momma used to when she was little.

To finish off our morning together, we had lunch in the food court (a BIG treat for us!) and then rode the carousel. I was SO proud of Jayden. She rode it all by herself (she wanted to ride a horse and I couldn't stand up beside her with Isaiah).
