A man after my own heart

My little Isaiah is a man after my own heart for many reasons. Near the top of the list is his love for "organizing and sorting" things. His big sister, Addy, was this way as a child too, so it brings lots of great memories back to the forefront of my mind.

He LOVES to "organize" and he's willing to be quite flexible with what he's organizing. Pictures tell the story so much better than I could with words:

GROCERIES! These are, by far, the favorite. He LOVES grocery day! He will help carry in the groceries, unpack them from their bags, crumble the bag for future use and then sort the groceries. He will carry them all over the downstairs of our house. He'll get them all organized and set up at the table and then, one by one, move them to the coffee table in the living room. Once he gets them set up there, he'll move them to the kitchen floor, etc. He also loves to build towers out of them.

Potatoes. I have no idea how he got ahold of these, but next thing I know, he's got a bucket of potatoes in hand.

Candy. After every holiday where the girls get a lot of candy (Halloween, Christmas, and recently Valentine's Day) he loves to sort it in cups, bowls and various containers. Every once in awhile he'll get a piece open and go to town too, so I've hand to limit this one!

Books . . . and my loaf/cake pans. This is a longtime favorite!

More groceries.

Little things of any kind that he can put inside a bowl, bucket, stroller, grocery cart etc. These are pieces to the nativity at my mom's house.

Diapers . . . and yes, those are sanitary napkins! He found them under my bathroom counter one morning.

Headbands! This is also a favorite, which cracks me up since Jayden used to do the same thing, only she would put them on her head.

Addy's organizing as a child has proven true to her personality as she is now very much like her perfectionist mom. I'm curious as to how Isaiah's personality develops because he is so much like his dad too. Only time will tell! In the meantime, I'm loving the fact that at least one of my kids gets excited about cleaning up the blocks at the end of the day!
